gregory grene flipsides [2008, bass guitar] |
The accordionist/singer of the Prodigals, one of the bands I play with, put together this solo album and invited me to sit in and contribute some bass. It features some heavy hitters from the world of Irish traditional music including guitarist John Doyle, Joanie Madden on flute and whistle, and Darren Maloney on banjo. |

michael brunnock so i do [2007, double bass] |
Singer/songwriter from Ireland whose band I played in for several years. During that time many wonderful musicians filled different positions in the group, sometimes for a year sometimes for one gig. This recording reflects the varied instrumentation and wide range of players Mike has at his disposal. I played on one of the tracks. www.michaelbrunnock.com www.myspace.com/michaelbrunnock |

jessica medina azul [2007, double bass] |
Joining Jessica on this date were some old friends like Greg Moore on tenor sax, Brandon Vasquez on trumpet, and Jessica Valiente on flute. A big thrill for me though was to get to work with Claudio Roditi who taught us all a little something with his trumpet and flugelhorn. And there was good old Monk for President as the rhythm section. www.jessicamedina.net |

original cast recording beautiful [2004, bass guitar & double bass] |
This is a very cool musical written by Stephen Barnett (music) and Michael Arquilla (book and lyrics) which they essentially used for their thesis for NYU's Tisch School of the Arts graduate musical theatre writing program. It was recorded in 2004 at Miner Street/Cycle Sound Recordings near Philadelphia by Brian McTear. www.cdbaby.com/arquilla |

Rick (guitar) and I had been playing duo steadily for a while when we recorded this collection of standards. I think the rapport we built up really shows through the effortless interaction evident on every track. www.rickdelsavio.com |

Dave Ryley (guitar) used to have a group called the Blue Suits that I played in. These are his songs that we used to play but with lyrics added by Dianna Tucker who sang them on this recording. |

ear soul hand within reach [2000, double bass] |
This is the trio that is now known as Monk for President playing standards and originals. Some of the tracks feature our friend Priscilla Owens on vocals. After the CD was recorded we thought it sounded so bad that we gave to Steve Remote to remix and, well, fix. He did a great job and after his buddy mastered it we were happy. We intended for this to be a demo but a distributor approached us with a deal to distribute it. Unfortunately they felt the need to remaster it, without our approval, and we were back to square one. However, there is still some fantastic playing by my comrades Glafkos Kontemeniotis (piano) and Vince "Kazi" McCoy (drums). www.myspace.com/monkforpresident |

raglan road live [1999, double bass] |
Playing with this band was my first experience with Irish traditional music. Even though Matt Mancuso was taught to be an outsanding traditionalist (he placed 2nd in the all-Ireland fiddle competition several times) he was very open to the progressive-rock style accompaniment Dave Barckow (drums) and I gave him. By the time we were done he even had a collection of guitar effect pedals. The rest of the CD is full of originals by Dominic Cromie and Dave. |
